Future generations are unable to buy property because everyone the older generation is investing and negative gearing with portfolios connected to their super. The cost of buying and keeping up with technology is eating up our money with iPhones and internet connection and also smart technology. The aged care sector has bought all the small home units that use to be a way for first home buyers to enter the market. Whose responsible? the Government are always involved.

Unfortunately, money and poor health is a problem so I cannot live the life I would like. I do not have any friends as my sisters were my friends and they have passed. It is a bit lonely and at times I also feel very invisible to people around me i.e. in shops etc. and I really do not like being treated as some idiotic insignificant person. When I go to the doctors and explain my symptoms it is usually brushed off with Oh it's your age or gender. I would have loved to travel more as I enjoyed every country I visited. I have traveled extensively also around Australia but some areas I have not yet seen and would love to. I do think you need someone beside you who has similar views on life and you can enjoy it with them.

Best idea I've ever heard. My wife suffers from emphysema due to her years of smoking. She's 72 and is like 92 years old. I'm the same, never smoked, and can run a marathon. if needed. I walk up to 10 kilometers per day and enjoy a variety of sports. I have no difficulty breathing and when our grandchildren and great-grandchildren come to visit I have active playtime with them. Smoking is not cool and will impact you in later years.

The worst thing is having someone cheat on you and when you ask them they lie and make you feel as if you are in the wrong, and when found out and they leave it is worse than when someone close dies, the one who dies doe not leave you by choice and then quite often the one they took up with rubs your nose in it. You can forgive but you can never forget, even after 30 odd years certain things make you remember and hurt.

Here's a thought. Make it possible for EDs to Charge - Not Bulk Bill - people who clog up EDs for no good reason. If it can be shown there is a Real Emergency then the ED Bulk Bills to Medicare. In my experience as a parent and an early years (birth-11) teacher, not everyone can be good at both or either. So as a society we help out with those who struggle, educate where we can, help where possible and be there all the time. In most of us we are taught to believe in a God, or higher power; someone or something that created life and put us on the Earth to exist and live a normal life. Of course, the kind of life we live is coloured or influenced by our environment and again, by our upbringings and circumstances, education, and beliefs. We should remember that for every action and decision there are consequences. Most religions nearly always come to a similar conclusion at the end of life. I do not include the fundamentalists who persist in taking a severe approach to matters and doing things to society against the accepted norm (actions and consequences). In 2015 I was conducting a criminal case in Sydney that was moved from the Downing Centre to the Central Criminal Court. On my way to the Central Court, I was crossing Castlereagh Street and a few paces before I reached the other side I had a Cardiac arrest. I remember going down and my secretary screaming but that was all. Apparently, a young man caught me from behind and proceeded to administer CPR. I came to and was taken to RPA Hospital where after two Angiograms I had a Defibrillator implanted. This was a quick way of letting me know that it was time to retire. I was 74 at the time. I still think very much about that day and how lucky I was to survive. Despite it all, there was nothing on the other side to relate; there was no bright light or rushing wind like near-death stories talk about. But perhaps I had not died in the true sense of the word? The experience has made me think about all these things very deeply and realise we are here on Earth to look after one another as best we can. I have three adult sons, a darling wife of 54 years of marriage, and 6 Grandchildren. Perhaps we weren’t meant to know all about our own existence and mortality? It may come later...I wonder.

I'm retired and I get bored too...here's what I do: I do diamond painting for hours. It's relaxing, fun and takes away any stress you might have. You may be asking "what is diamond painting"? It's almost like paint by numbers except you don't use paint, you use beads. I have done everything from flowers to scenery to custom diamond painting (portraits of my grand children or other family members). It keeps me out of trouble too. LOL

Why bother? I have just completed 2 surveys in a row, only to be screened out both times when I submitted them. Do survey companies use our data after they have kicked us to the curb? I am getting fed-up with this screened out habit. Kick us out at the beginning, don't waste our time!

I have always enjoyed poetry and in Australia we have some beauties. The Man From Snowy River is a classic but there are others I'm fond of. Two poems I don't like are number 1, The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, and number 2, The Kon-Tinki Expedition. I was enthralled with Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Keep an eye on your teenager's mental health. My son had depression and was suicidal but he was usually in his room and I didn't realize until someone at my church put him onto headspace. Staying in your bedroom and not talking is not normal teenage behaviour. Also look out for lack of interest in things they used to love.

I think Christmas should be spent however you want. If hosting a dinner is it then by all means. The stress can be alleviated by turning it down a notch or two.. It doesn't have to be elaborate. The whole idea is the sharing and caring as we get together and celebrate. Get family members involved. They can contribute by bringing something.

If different traditions enter through new family members what is wrong with that. You can keep yours and just add theirs. We are all immigrants or ancestors of immigrants. We used to be mainly English traditions which did not suit our climate anyway. I never saw snow until my teenage years, so a snow scene scenario is not my tradition. A roast in Australia during 30 plus degree temps. is just ridiculous so a BBQ or beach setting with seafood etc. became the rule for us although many still keep up the UK traditions. Most Supermarkets have Service Delicatessens and now you are allowed to bring your own, Washed, containers instead of everything being wrapped in huge Plastic Bags? All it takes is a bit of effort to start with and then it becomes a habit. Shopping Bags? You do know that those so-called Green bags are just more plastic? We can buy Cotton ones which can be tossed in the laudry every now and then to keep them clean and nice for the Checkout staff to use.

This is hard for you. I avoid confronting people even in a nice way. Invite him in for a coffee and have a general get to know you chat. He might explain why he does it so early and every day without you even asking him. If he is doing it every day then he must not be doing it for very long. It might be a routine from an earlier part of his life. I can\u2019t imagine he needs to do it every morning. In a general friendly chat you might be able to suggest he only does it once a week. Just do the get to know you first before you leap in and contact the council or start to tell your neighbour to change his ways. I feel for you. This could become increasingly more irritating.

This is how I lost: Lower daily intake of calories (1200 for me at 5'2"), drink something HOT every 2 hours (tea, coffee, lemonade, and hot chocolate, at 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm, 9pm and 11pm for me), and only eat in an 8 hour period, fasting for 16 hours (11am breakfast, 3pm lunch and no later than 7 pm dinner for me). I can do it by drinking a hot beverage every 2 hours. I lost 1 pound a week, in 11 months, and am keeping it off, and you can, too! I'm 76! I started on February 14, 2023 and, before February 14, 2024, I had lost that 45 pounds! Oh, and I did NOT exercise, or take anything for weight loss! ;-D

I would like to see people that live with physical disabilities on Soapies as there is not enough diversity on these types of programs. Just what is this obsession people have with buying these huge, heavy vehicles? vehicles designed for Off-Road use are being bought but never do morwe than take the children to and from school, do the weekly shopping. General Motors released a Monster Vehicle called RAM, a vehicle which dwarfs all others, designed for heavy Duty Work but like the smaller, but still massively heavy and big, are never used for Work but also to take the chhildren to and from school and go to the Supermarket. Not only do they tear up the roads but they eat fuel and, in Australia where they are being dumped because other countries are banning their sale they pump out more emissions than any others. I was in a Supermarket car park the other day and one of these monster vehicles took up Two parking spaces. Do people buy these tanks because they have such low self-esteem they make them feel bigger and better than everyone else? Dark tourism I have heard about is people paying huge sums to go to Africa and shoot big game that is fenced in on reserves. Where they have local guides and transport so they can chase down the animal. The most annoying one I've done was likely about 25 minutes long, it was for over 800 points; at the end it said wait while we give you your points and when the girl came on the screen with her hands in the air, it said Congratulations, You won 0 points. I have suffered from anxiety for over forty years. I have tried everything that I come across. I take medication but it doesn't seem to help much. I have tried many hypnotherapist, talked to many counsellors, psychologist, psychiatrists. I have tried numerous herbs, CBD oils and medications, relaxation techniques, crystal therapy, and the list goes on. I still have anxiety. I don't believe there is a cure. There are techniques to help after anxiety hits but no idea (sadly) how to overcome it.

I had a few gems as teachers...but not many...I had a lot of fun at school but I wasn't supposed to be enjoying myself..so a fair bit of the time resulted in mad people hitting me with canes...over the bottom or across the palms..and a stream of half hour detentions after school..but none of it worked..I didn't get depressed...or give in....I still had laughing fits...I still had fun...that's what kids do! ...kids are VERY resilient..,and you cannot cure them of being REALLY happy,,I'd lie on the floor laughing and could not get up!.. ....I am not sure how our current batch of little angels would cope with that...they would probably need therapy...(these days I might get therapy or medication for being optimistic defiant and happy...it is probably a medical condition...like everything else) many of our current batch were really damaged during covid because they didn't see their friends....it affected their communication skills and their abilities at school....I wonder how they would cope with the Blitz.... or being in other interesting places...we might be raising a generation of babies that never want to leave home... sorry BB I'm wandering off course here!

Heck we do not have to tell Porkies, our truths are enough. We have the most deadliest spider/s, deadliest snakes 9 of the top 10, Kangaroos that attack, Dingoes that attack, Sharks, Sea Snakes, Stingers, Blue Bottles, Stonefish, Box Jelly Fish, Salt Water Crocodiles, Cone Shell, Blue Ringed Octopus, Paralysis Tick, and the list goes on and any one of these are deadly. The European Honey Bee is also a baddy. Never had to make anything up. However, one American asked if we could see Uluru from the Sydney Harbour Bridge and of course I said yes but I did educate him after I took the mickey. However on the plus side we have a beautiful country with unique animals, flowers, trees, etc. A huge rock in the middle of the country and the largest coral reef, we have wave rocks, canyons, deserts, water falls, mountains, stunning beaches and wide open spaces. Our country is diverse with so much beauty to see. Actually, Kangaroos have been known to cross the Harbour Bridge so not such a porky.

I don't believe in tipping (I don't tip, and I don't feel self-conscious when I don't tip). Your employer (taxi drivers are employees) - should be paying you enough - so a customer shouldn't have to TIP YOU (known as subsidized your wages/earnings)! For as I am concerned - this individual (described in your scenario) needs to get a "real" job that doesn't involve tipping!

Why would you trust the 'MEDIA' on any subject - PERIOD! (Example: Fox News settle a civil lawsuit for 787.5 million dollars based on the fact - Fox News was blatantly distorting the TRUTH (aka outright lying that former President Trump was cheated out of his re-election bid in 2020)). The MEDIA is in business to make money - by any means necessarily - the end (profits) justify the means - (aka capitalism) - which has nothing to do with giving you unbiased facts so that you can make informed decisions!

One, your memory doesn't serve you correctly, the first president to take the USA off the gold standard was FDR in 1933. Two, you are deliberately confusing personal debt with the debt of a country (a stigma comes with personal debt - not the debt of a country). Three, every 'country' on this planet has debt (including Saudia Arabia, Kuwait and China - supposedly the three richest countries on the planet). Four, not any countries have enough gold (in reserve in their country) to cover its debt (including China, Saudia Arabia, or Kuwait). Five, if the world economy went back to the gold standard, the world economy would immediately go into chaos (and a full-scale depression). Six, you 'never' hear international banking firms, international accounting firms, international law firms, or international think tanks (firms), etc. advocating for a return (back to) the gold standard. Seven, your plan will only work if you are advocating for ANARCHISM. Eight, cryptocurrency is a digital currency designed to work as a medium of exchange on a computer network that is not reliant on any central authority, such as a bank or government - to uphold or maintain it - aka a 'SCAM' on the streets of USA (in rough neighborhoods). Last, cryptocurrency 'only' works if you are 'gullible and greedy' - it is not a long-term viable solution to replace a monetary system that doesn't work (anymore 'except' for the benefit of the rich or the super-rich) - aka CAPITLISM.

If you took tax off medications then some other sector would want tax removed as well and then everyone wants tax gone. Taxes pay for all your other necessities. I'm sure most 1st world countries have systems in place to help the less fortunate. Most medicines do not cure they merely help fight the ailment you are struck with.

As you get 'older' - you will have to fight 'everyday' the urge to become a 'pack rat'. The less 'stuff' you have in your apartment (or house) - the less cleaning you have to do on routine (or everyday) 'basis'.

This is a pet subject of mine, I’ve been in the plumbing business for over 50 years and in that time I have seen strange articles stuck in drains Often children put toys in the loo and in England there was a man at the water treatment station employed to look for still births. One really common article was a sanitizer that hung on the rim of the loo. It was just small enough to disappear from sight but never went any further. The clear water could pass but solids would accumulate . I must have cleared hundred out over the years until they made them bigger

They Must also klnow that there is to be no wandering off simply because they feel like it and that they Must come straight home and then, with your permission go off with other kids so that Mum/Dad knows where they are going.

It\u2019s because parents are letting their children get away with everything. If there are problems at school, then investigate and deal with them. Allowing children to avoid facing problems will only create more problems for them later in life.
